Design Direction
Graphic Design
Designed across three annual cycles, Jeld-Wen’s Sustainability Report became one of the company’s few flagship publications and, with minimal brand guidelines beyond colour and type, one of the few projects where I could shape the visual language from the ground up. Each year meant presenting fresh design concepts while translating dense ESG disclosure (emissions data, materiality assessments, supply chain compliance) into something clear, credible and genuinely worth reading.
Each report was built using the Workiva reporting software, and genuinely pushed what was capable within that system.
Concepts
Each year I aimed to develop a distinct theme for the report, a visual thread that could carry a key strategic message through every section. For each cycle I presented a couple of design concepts, always weighing the same two priorities: the disclosure needed to stay clear and rigorous, while the execution needed enough ambition to make the report feel like a showcase, not just a compliance document. Below are two concepts that were presented but not taken forward.
Three years of collaboration
Below is a small snapshot of the work produced for Jeld-Wen’s two previous ESG reports. Each pairs rigorous compliance data with an elevated visual language, designed to engage analysts and stakeholders alike.
